Trust joins call on UK Government to extend EU Exit transition

The Scottish Wildlife Trust has joined over 50 civil society organisations from across all parts of the United Kingdom to call on the Westminster Government to extend the EU Exit transition period.

We have done this because we have concerns that the exceptional strain being put on all governments by the Covid-19 crisis means that they cannot put the level of resources necessary into EU Exit-related work.

Ultimately, the Trust believes that without the time for proper scrutiny and planning around proposals, there could be serious negative outcomes for the environment; therefore an extension in these extenuating circumstances is necessary.
