Sandy the squirrel’s St Andrew’s Day journey

Sandy the Squirrel has arrived in Aberdeen for a very special St Andrew's Day journey. In times gone by, red squirrels used to be able to travel from one side of Scotland to the other without touching the ground; however, due to habitat loss, urban development and changing land use, this journey is not now possible… unless you travel by public transport!

To celebrate St Andrew's Day, Sandy will be travelling by train from Aberdeen to Glasgow. We'll be leaving Aberdeen just after 9.30, with a stop in Perth at about 11.30 and, if all goes to plan, on to Glasgow for 1.15 where Sandy will take a native tree to Kelvingrove Park.

You can follow Sandy all day via the Trust's social media.
