Darren to keep his kilt on all year for Scotland’s wildlife

An Aberdeen-based DJ and entrepreneur will spend all of 2012 in his kilt, in an effort to raise money for the Scottish Wildlife Trust.

Darren Millar is planning to keep his kilt on for all 366 days of the year and he will undertake a different challenge every month. There are already plans for a skydive.

The Scottish Wildlife Trust is very grateful for Darren’s efforts. We hope that the money he will raise will go towards creating Living Landscapes in Coigach and Assynt, in the North West of Scotland and Cumbernauld, in Central Scotland.

The Trust is also involved with the conservation of the iconic red squirrel, as well as the historic reintroduction of the Eurasian beaver in the Scottish Beaver Trial in Argyll.

You can donate £5 to Darren’s campaign quickly and easily with your mobile phone, by texting KILT02 £5 to 70070.

Darren Millar (pictured) said:

“The opportunity to wear a kilt doesn’t come around very often. Before this year, I only got mine out for weddings and other special events.

“I’m tired of that attitude; I want to wear my kilt every day!

“As a New Year’s Resolution, I decided to wear it every day in 2012.

“As a proud Scotsman, I want to raise money for a Scottish cause. I’ve loved wildlife all my life so it seemed natural to wear my kilt for the Scottish Wildlife Trust.

“I want to do a different challenge wearing my kilt every month of this year. I’d love to hear people’s ideas for weird and wonderful things I can do, all for Scotland’s wildlife.”
