Dip in to Falls of Clyde this summer

The Scottish Wildlife Trust is giving visitors to Falls of Clyde Visitor Centre and Wildlife Reserve on the edge of New Lanark the chance to see river wildlife including dippers, kingfishers and other river birds this summer.

The Trust is hosting a series of People’s Postcode Lottery Dipper Watches each weekend during the summer holidays. These events take place every Saturday and Sunday afternoon from 12:30 – 4:30pm until 12 August.

Laura Preston, our Ranger at Falls of Clyde said: “Summer is a great time to visit the reserve. Dippers can be seen busily flying up and down the river to find food and there is a host of other birds to see including grey wagtails, heron and sand piper.

“Thanks to players of People’s Postcode Lottery we will be on hand during these events with telescopes and binoculars to help people spot this special wildlife. Some visitors may be lucky enough to see the bright blue flash of a kingfisher, or see an osprey flying overhead!”
