Following a few days of sparse fish deliveries from our male, LM12, yesterday we were pleased to see two deliveries of food for our female, LF15, including one so fresh that it was flopping around the nest! LF15 made quick work of it though, and she soon took off to enjoy her meal and a break from incubation.

LM12 caught this juvenile pike from our loch in front of the hides, an exciting sight to see. Later in the day he brought LF15 a large headless brown trout which she carried off and enjoyed behind the nest tree before returning with a tail scrap for her mate. LM12 can often be seen consuming the heads of fish on a favourite perch before making his delivery.

Since this year’s Osprey Watch began LM12 has been seen bringing Rainbow trout, Brown trout, and Perch, and we hope for many more successful hunts this season.
