The Trust has won two awards at the 2017 Nature of Scotland Awards. These prestigious awards celebrate and recognise the best of conservation in Scotland.
A Cumbernauld Living Landscape project to create connections between high school students and wildlife received the Youth and Education award, and our North West Highlands Snorkel Trail received the prize for Nature Tourism. Both projects seek to create new connections between people and wildlife.
Tracy Lambert, Cumbernauld Living Landscape said: “The hard work and commitment of the amazing young people from across Cumbernauld have made this project a very special thing to be involved in. The co-operation and new relationships that have formed through this project will have a life-long impact on everyone involved.”
Our Living Seas Communities Officer Noel Hawkins said: “The North West Highlands Snorkel Trail encourages people to experience life that, despite being just a few feet away, is in many ways a world apart. By showing local people and visitors the world under the waves we’re hoping to encourage them to care for the important habitats that we have in this part of Scotland, and help to protect them for the future.”
