It’s not just fantastic wildlife that can be found here on the reserve, we also have a range of historical buildings, from the Hall of Mirrors up by the surge tank to Corra Castle overlooking the majestic Corra Linn waterfall. Currently there is also an archaeological dig being carried out by Scottish Wildlife Trust volunteers and the Clydesdale Mills Society on a saw mill site that would have belonged to Bonnington House in the 19th century.

Since it began in the summer the excavation has really come on, with plenty of evidence coming to light about the history and uses of the mill site, with many artefacts also found including day to day objects such as bottles or tobacco pipes, as well as tools, building materials and even a grind stone set into the floor!
