Osprey Tracking Update – 2nd December 2015
It’s been another pretty quiet week for our two young ospreys in the Gambia.
The majority of FR3’s activity has been focussed around the villages of Faraba Sutu and Kafuta, slightly further west than last week. The only exception to this was on the 28th when FR3 made a quick return visit towards Ndemban, having spent a lot of time there earlier in the month.
Our contact from Rutland, Chris Wood has just headed out to this part of the Gambia and is hoping to catch up with FR3 and any other ringed or tagged ospreys whilst there. We wish him every luck and look forward to hearing any news that he can bring us.
Meanwhile, FR4 appears to be very at home among the Baobolon wetlands and has only been travelling up to a maximum of 4km (2.5 miles) from the main roosting area.
