Players raise over £40 million for good causes

The Scottish Wildlife Trust is delighted to confirm that players of People’s Postcode Lottery have now raised an amazing £41,572,783 for charities and good causes since the lottery’s launch in 2008.

Ongoing support from players of People’s Postcode Lottery, whose parent company is Novamedia, has provided funding to numerous grassroots organisations and local projects as well as national and international charities.

People’s Postcode Lottery and their sister lotteries in the Netherlands and Sweden were collectively announced as the second largest charitable private donor in the world, according to British business-focused newspaper City A.M.  In total over 4.9 billion Euros has been awarded to good causes across the globe.

Chief Executive of the Scottish Wildlife Trust, Jonny Hughes, said: “The Scottish Wildlife Trust must issue a massive thanks to players of People’s Postcode Lottery.

“From safeguarding the future of red squirrels, to ensuring the safety of our peregrine falcons at Falls of Clyde, their contributions make a huge difference to Scotland’s wildlife.”
