Have a wild day out at Cullaloe Wildlife Reserve, near Aberdour, on Sunday 2 August as the Scottish Wildlife Trust (SWT) reserve opens its doors with a range of activities for all the family. 

Supported by Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH), the open day will offer guided walks with the warden, pond dipping, a quiz trail, face painting, stalls and the chance to find out about the history of this exciting wildlife reserve.

Alistair Whyte, SWT’s Reserves Manager for East Central Scotland, said “This is a great chance to explore Cullaloe Wildlife Reserve, learn about some of the plants and animals that live there and to find out about the history of this former reservoir”. 

The event is part of SNH’s Local Nature Reserve Celebrations, which aims to help people find out about the wildlife close to where they live.  It is also a featured event in the Fife Outdoor Access Festival. 

Cullaloe Wildlife Reserve is around 2 miles north of Aberdour, on the B9157.  The event will run from 10.30am to 3.00pm on Sunday 2 August, with guided walks starting at 11.30am and 1.30pm.  Pond dipping will take place at 10.45am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm.  All events are free.
