Connect children with nature through our new activity packs!

Outdoor learning provides many benefits for children, from boosting mental and physical health, to improving communication, problem solving and self-esteem. Plus, it’s a brilliant way to encourage a lifelong love of nature!

We have just launched a series of Discovery Den Activity Packs that are full of activities all about Scotland’s habitats and wildlife – perfect for inspiring outdoor-themed learning.

Whether you are a parent, teacher or group leader, there are lots of fun activities to get stuck into. Inside the packs you can find printable activity pages, how-to guides, spotter sheets plus lots of top tips and fun facts.

The suggested age range for the pack is 8 – 12 years, although most of the activities can be adapted for other ages too. From making a pond in a bucket to creating mud faces, there are a wide range of activities that can be used independently or several used together. Plus, there are plenty of indoor activities too!

The packs are free to download, just head over to our Discovery Den. You’ll also find a library of more nature-themed activities you can filter through.

Don’t forget to sign up to our Educators’ mailing list to be first to hear about new resources as and when they go live!
