ACTION: Tell Scotland’s MSPs why you love nature

A few weeks back, we discussed the importance of the recently published Natural Environment Bill – in particular the need for statutory targets for nature restoration, supported by a robust funding system at all levels of society.

The Bill’s introduction is a welcome step, and you can read more about our thoughts on this here, but there is still a long way to go if we’re to halt biodiversity loss by 2030 and restore nature by 2045.

That’s why today we’re focusing on a single action that anyone can take to support Scotland’s natural environment: simply tell our decision makers why you love nature.

Scotland Loves Nature is a campaign run by Scottish Environment LINK, a forum of over 40 members, including the Trust, who are working to protect Scotland’s natural environment.

From speaking to the Trust’s 40,000+ members, we know how much Scotland Loves Nature. We love its iconic species like red squirrels and golden eagles. We love its breathtaking landscapes, full of forests, peatlands, lochs and mountains. And we love the benefits that nature brings to our everyday lives, through bolstering our economy, supporting our wellbeing and playing a key role in sustainable food production.

Once Scottish Environment LINK have gathered the messages, a number will be selected for inclusion in a book that will be presented to every MSP in Scotland. So your messages will be going straight to the people who will be debating the Natural Environment Bill in Parliament.

This is your opportunity to make your voice heard!

Sign the e-action now and tell our leaders how much You Love Nature.
