Pink Sunset

Join the Scottish Wildlife Trust to watch the sunset and see the pink-footed geese return to roost on the Basin.

Mid-October is often the best time of year to see the pink-footed geese at Montrose Basin at their peak numbers. They return to the Basin every evening to roost. Enjoy the spectacle together with a sunset over the reserve, with expert knowledge from Scottish Wildlife Trust staff.

Wear wellies and warm clothing. Bring a camping chair and torch. Minimum age: 12.

We will be meeting at the Tayock car park. Please note the map on our website isn't accurate! This is just the nearest available postcode. The Tayock car park is right next to the St Christopher Caravan Site. You can see the location on our map here. what3words: ///pine.wasps.sticks

The end time of this event is flexible, depending on what the geese are doing! You are very welcome to leave before the end time if the temperature starts to get a bit too cold.
