First chick hatches at Loch of the Lowes!

We have our first chick! Around 12 hours after spotting the first signs of hatching we got a look at NC0’s first chick of the season at 10:26 this morning.

First osprey chick
The tiny osprey chick will grow quickly thanks to a high protein diet of fish.

Osprey eggs usually hatch in the order they were laid, around 1-2 days apart, so a very exciting time is ahead. Stay tuned to our live osprey webcam to avoid missing a thing!

The Trust’s Osprey Protection Programme at Loch of the Lowes is supported by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
