Ospreys have left?

A brief update – our ospreys have gone . . .  we think!

It is always a very difficult call to make, especially with frequent intruder ospreys visiting Lowes, but these are the last confirmed sightings of our birds.

Last positive ID of both juveniles on the nest was on Wednesday 14th at 11:32 and the last fish brought to the nest was on the same day at 19:17. With no definite sightings of PT5 after that time, we’re reasonably confident PT5 left that same day.

PT4 was definitely ID’d on Thursday 15th at 9:45 and we’re pretty sure it was the same bird who left at 11:07 but hasn’t been seen since then. Our adult male, LM12, was seen last yesterday, Friday 16th at 9:50.

So, it would seem our whole osprey family have set off on their next great adventure – unless, we are proved wrong and one or more appear back at Lowes after this blog is posted!
