LM12 arrives to a warm Scottish welcome
I’m sure many of you have caught up with the flurry of social media activity at the weekend, heralding the arrival of our regular breeding male osprey LM12 on Friday 15th March around 17:20pm.
It looks like he managed to make good use of the warm southern winds from Africa a few weeks ago and sneak in ahead of the recent storms and snowy weather at the weekend.
He has wasted no time in making himself at home, partaking in a spot of housekeeping and tucking into a good meal at first light on Saturday.
It’s an exciting year for us at Loch of the Lowes as we celebrate 50 years of managing the reserve and 50 years of breeding ospreys. We can’t wait to see how the season unfolds and (all being well) are looking forward to welcoming LM12’s mate back in the next week or two.
Follow the latest developments on our live webcam or come down to the Visitor Centre and enjoy fantastic views from our hides which are open 24/7.
