Third Osprey Egg!

We are delighted to announce that our breeding osprey pair have just had their third egg. The female (LF15) started showing egg laying behaviour at 12:05pm and at 12:15pm she stood up to reveal a third egg. The male (LM12) was on the nest to witness the event but has since flown off, hopefully to do some fishing! The female has settled down to incubate.

Hopefully we will have some Osprey chicks in mid May but until then our breeding pair will need to keep their eggs warm and well guarded from crows and other natural predators. Our Osprey Watch team will be busy ensuring they are not disturbed during this critical time. Fingers crossed for a peaceful next few weeks!
