With your support our ranger can work all year round to protect even more of Perthshire’s incredible wildlife.
The Perthshire Ranger is a key member of our team and plays a vital role in looking after wildlife on our five local Scottish Wildlife Trust reserves and beyond. As another successful summer season for the ranger draws to a close, thoughts are turning to the seasons ahead. Unfortunately the many calls on our resources mean that without external funding we can only sustain this job over the summer months. A recent grant offer has brought us tantalisingly close to being able to employ a ranger year-round until 2018, but we need to raise a further £9,000 to meet our target. We’ve already raised almost 90% of the funding needed – can you help with our final fundraising drive?
With your support, the ranger will be able to lead even more teams of volunteers carrying out a wide range of conservation activities on our Perthshire wildlife reserves. The ranger will also be able to continue to manage the osprey protection programme at Loch of the Lowes, making it possible for many thousands of people from across the globe to learn about and enjoy these impressive birds through the live nest-cam. Your help would also enable the ranger to run more hands-on sessions for local school-children, inspiring them to look after the wildlife around them. The ranger’s role is a wide-ranging one – a full-time, four-season job.
