Easter Weekend Eggstravaganza!!

With the osprey season now in full swing and Easter weekend nearly upon us, we have a packed line-up of activities for all the family to enjoy at the visitor centre over the next few days…

Tomorrow afternoon at 2pm we are joined by professional storyteller Lindsey Gibb who will be reading two of Beatrix Potter’s famous children’s stories; The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin and The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck. Bring your children or grandchildren along to enjoy these classic tales and learn about the real animals behind the characters. This is a free event included as part of the normal centre admission charge.

Saturday and Sunday are our Awesome Ospreys Family Days. Come along to see our ospreys in the flesh and learn fascinating facts about their lives at the same time! There will be loads of fun children’s activities on offer, including quizzes, crafts and an Easter Egg trail with prizes to be won! Activities will be available between 11am and 4pm so drop-in whenever you like. Normal centre admission charges apply and there is a suggested donation for activities of £1 per child (£3 adult, £2 concession/member).

On Sunday afternoon at 2pm we are very fortunate to welcome world-renowned raptor conservationist Roy Dennis to Loch of the Lowes. Roy will be giving an illustrated talk about the history of osprey conservation around the world and filling us in on the latest research into their incredible lives. This is a rare opportunity to meet the man who has played a major role in the recovery of ospreys and furthering our understanding of these amazing birds – an event not to be missed! There is no charge for the talk (normal centre admission charge applies) but donations to Roy’s Highland Foundation for Wildlife are encouraged.
