No sound on webcam and CJS vacancy clarification

Many of you have been contacting us over the last few days with regards to the lack of sound on the osprey webcam. We are currently experiencing some technical difficulties with the new microphone which was professionally installed and tested earlier in the year. We believe the issue is at the visitor centre end (not the nest you’ll be glad to hear) and are awaiting a visit from audio experts to get the problem fixed. None of us have the knowledge to resolve this so we are reliant on external assistance (and their availability) so please bear with us in the meantime.

On another note, since yesterday’s blog post we’ve received a number of email enquiries about our vacancy and why there is an age restriction of 16-24. The age restriction on this particular post is not infact imposed by ourselves but rather by the Scottish Government who provide the funding. It is part of a training scheme (Community Jobs Scotland) which is specifically targeted at this younger age group to reduce youth unemployment. We would love to be able to accept applications from people of all ages (and indeed do for all posts which we fund ourselves) however we have to abide by the scheme’s restrictions in this case.

Thanks again for your understanding with regards to both matters.

Jonathan
