The Haining is a country house and estate in Selkirk that was bequeathed to the people of Selkirk in 2009 and is now managed by The Haining Charitable Trust.
The walk will take us round The Haining Loch on a circular route, with local knowledge being shared along the way on the habitat and wildlife to be found there. The loch itself is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna and we will be looking out for a view of the great crested grebe pairs that nest on the loch.
Meet at 6:15pm in the car park to the north of the house, accessed through the entrance arch on the A707, West Port, Selkirk. The venue is also accessible by public transport.
