Squirrel away a day at the Satrosphere Science Centre

To celebrate Red Squirrel Week, a national week dedicated to everything red and squirrelly which runs from Saturday 2nd to Sunday 10th October 2010, Aberdeen’s Satrosphere Science Centre will be hosting a Red Squirrel fun day this weekend (Saturday 25 September), in partnership with the Scottish Wildlife Trust’s Saving Scotland’s Red Squirrels (SSRS) project team.

Visitors are invited to come along to chat with the SSRS project team and learn about squirrels and how this project is working hard to try and protect them.  There will be an information stall in the exhibition hall and presentations from 11.30 am, as well as fun activities and the chance for kids to meet Mr Squirrel, a giant red squirrel who likes nothing more than a big cuddle.

Hollie Walker, the SSRS Project Officer for the North East, said: “The event will hopefully provide a great learning experience for all the family. There will be activities for all ages and a chance to win some red squirrel prizes with our squirrel word search and quiz. The SSRS team look forward to meeting you there.”

The Satrosphere Science Centre is located at The Tramsheds, 179 Constitution Street, Aberdeen, AB24 5TU.   The event is free and open to everyone.
