Innellan, Argyll & Bute Wildlife Watch Group news

The Innellan Wildlife Watch group is based in Innellan Primary school during school time.

2017- Plans:

“We  plan to do a bit of work on bird recognition and to take part in the School’s birdwatch in January.  We also have plans to plant wildflower seeds and trees for the pollinating areas of our school garden.  We will continue to feed birds and make bird cakes regularly as well as monitor and find out more about our local red squirrels and pine martens.

As the year progresses we will be planting up the school garden with a wide selection of vegetables and fruits.  We have a small pond in the grounds so will be monitoring it for signs of frog life.   A bug survey is also planned and a visit to a local reservoir will be arranged for later as toads are known to spawn in that area.  In May, we will open our garden to the public in connection with our local Community Festival activities.”

– Eleanor, Group Leader

We compost as much as possible too and have loads of leaf mould coming along nicely.
