Osprey Watch Volunteers

Title: Osprey Watch Volunteers

Status: Flexible (minimum one to four days a fortnight)

Location: Loch of the Lowes, Dunkeld

Closing date: Ongoing but season is likely to start in March

We are looking for volunteers to help our long term paid and unpaid Species Protection staff/volunteers and the Perthshire Ranger provide a 24/7 watch on our nesting ospreys, should they return as hoped.  We are looking for as many volunteers as possible to fill gaps in our monitoring rota and to provide a reserve pool in case gaps occur.

What we are looking for:

  • flexibility, proximity and means to travel to Dunkeld
  • availability during the osprey season and willingness to work unsociable hours
  • confidence in talking to the public

What you will get in return:

  • get involved with the success of an iconic species
  • work with a great staff and volunteer team with a common shared aim
  • learn new wildlife identification skills and knowledge
