• Meet people
• Try new activities
• Learn new skills
• Visit different places
• Discover more about wildlife
• Get outdoors
• Be active
• Connect with nature
• Have fun
• Make a difference

Regular Volunteering Opportunities

Wednesday Weekday Volunteers
Practical conservation tasks such as removing invasive species or repairing woodland steps.

Time out Thursday
A wellbeing group with weeding or pruning followed by a walk learning about nature.

Monthly Community Conservation Volunteers, first Sunday of every month
A chance to help local community groups with their activities.

Volunteer Wardens

You don’t have to join a group to volunteer. You can look after a reserve like Steve and Alison White, from Troon, who are volunteer wardens at the Trust’s Shewalton Wood nature reserve in Irvine. They like this informal approach to volunteering where you can record wildlife sightings and litter pick at a time that suits you.

Public Events

During the summer, monthly walks and events are available to learn more about the history and wide range of species that can be found in the area. They offer an informal chance to get outdoors exploring in the company of others.

Volunteer stories

If you are not sure whether volunteering is for you. Then hear what our volunteers have to say about how much they enjoy getting outdoors, meeting new people and discovering the wild side of their neighbourhood.

Community groups

Action for Nature in Ayrshire works with schools, community groups and attends public events. If your school or community group would like help caring for your outdoor spaces then we would love to hear from you.
