Longhaven Cliffs Wildlife Reserve guided walk

Join the Trust's ranger for a walk along Longhaven Cliffs, exploring the dramatic coastal features and viewing nesting seabirds.

The Trust's Longhaven Cliffs reserve is one of the best kept secrets of North East Scotland. Part of the Bullers of Buchan footpath, it is a Site of Specific Scientific Interest, a Special Area of Conservation and a Special Protection Area, for it's population of internationally important breeding seabirds that visit in the summer season. These beautiful birds, including razorbills, kittiwakes, guillemots, herring gulls and puffins, roost all along the craggy pink granite headlands, bays and sea stacks. Wildflowers, including sea pink, red and bladder campion, bird's-foot trefoil and gorse, dust the maritime heath clifftops with pink and yellow. Join the local ranger for a walk in this dramatic and beautiful reserve, and bring optics for some spectacular bird watching!

Meet at Longhaven Cliffs main car park. Family friendly walks - children 8 and over only please and all children must be with an adult. Bring a packed lunch and waterproof clothing/footwear. No dogs please. There is parking and the reserve is accessible by public transport.
