Exclusive footage of beavers

Scotland's beavers are thriving!

New footage, taken as part of the Scottish Beaver Trial, shows the residents of Knapdale grooming, gathering food and building dams. The footage has been taken with new infrared cameras that capture images of the beavers when they are most active: at night.

The beavers are now well settled in their home on the West coast of Scotland; this footage shows the beavers preparing their homes for winter. The first beavers were released in the forest of Knapdale in May 2009.

The Scottish Beaver Trial is a partnership project between the Scottish Wildlife Trust and the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland. The trial is being hosted by Forestry Commission Scotland and monitored by Scottish Natural Heritage.
