Beware: Osprey Season Ahead!

Osprey season is just around the corner- spring is coming and our preseason preparations are gathering pace. We know its hard to imagine with snow still on the ground but the birds will hopefully be back in just 8 short weeks!

Do you want a front row seat to all the osprey action?

Would you like to get more involved with osprey season at Loch of the Lowes this year? We have an amazing team of friendly staff and volunteers who help with all different aspects of protecting, studying and sharing the ospreys- could you be one of this family?  You don’t need to be an osprey expert to volunteer , just enthusiastic and willing to learn as full training is given. We also have volunteering to suit most people- the commitment is flexible to suit your needs.

We are a friendly bunch really! The Osprey watch team 2013

We are having our traditional pre-season volunteers gathering on Monday the 10th March with staff and volunteers old and new most welcome. This includes a morning training session for new osprey nest protection watch or visitor centre volunteers, a social lunch, and an afternoon pre-season briefing. It’s the ideal way to get involved with the 2014 osprey season – but if you can’t make it, let us know anyway and we will try to arrange something else for you.

If you would like to find out more about how to get involved, contact Ospreys@swt.org.uk .
