Icelandic Goose Count

32,891 Pink Footed Geese were counted on the Icelandic Goose Count this morning. Although we had hoped for a peak count today, the highest count has still been the 46,769 on Tuesday.This peak is 17,000 lower than the last 2 years, however, its unlikely that a higher number will now be counted this year. It may be a case that less geese have chosen to stop over on their migration further south and have instead just made the direct flight without stopping. Either this or we have been unfortunate with the timing of the goose counts, and have simply missed the peak number of geese and been unable to record them. But there will still be a few counts to follow this year, so once again we will keep you updated once they have been completed.
