Preparations

This past week has been full of preparations for our latest event, but I have still managed to make it onto the reserve each day, with the majority of my time has been taken up scouring the woods for activities and collecting materials for the various activities we have lined up for the weekend.

Our Wild Woodland Adventures day will give your family a fun filled day out!
Our Wild Woodland Adventures day will give your family a fun filled day out!

This Saturday from 10 o’clock at the Falls of Clyde reserve we are holding a Children’s event full of outdoor activities. Kids better be ready for a day of nature themed fun, full of woodland skills and crafting, games and demonstrations. Why not let them get creative with different arts and crafts including boat making using woodland materials and test them out on the river in a contest to see who can build the fastest and sturdiest vessel. Let test their Robin Hood skills as we show you how to make real bows and arrows and have a little target practice. Then watch wood come to life as it is crafted by the chainsaw sculpture into wonderful new decorations. And see if you can collect enough nectar in the fastest time and make it through the busy bee obstacle course. Later in the afternoon they can also attend a guided woodland walk in search of tracks and trails of the animals living on the reserve including deer, birds and badger before learning shelter building in the woods, testing their survival skills while learning to create their own real shelter from natural materials gathered from the forest floor.

Completing all the activities will earn your children their Badger Award Certificate! Price per child is £10 and you can book now by phoning the Falls of Clyde office on 01555 665262

Hope to see you on Saturday!
