Osprey Diary Thurs 4th of April

Another good day here at Loch of the Lowes with both our birds enjoying the spring sunshine and the fishing conditions getting much better for our male bird as the ice on the loch finally melts. As I write the male has just brought in a huge brown trout- well done!

Both birds are paying more and more attention to the nest, and it has certainly changed appearance since our female arrived on Saturday- long gone is the rank green grass, and the central cup is getting nice and deep ready for eggs.

I thought I would devote the rest of the Blog to sharing some stunning visuals from our friend Ross Forsyth who has kindly given us these images to share with you. He took these recently of our famous female “Lady” collecting sticks for the nest- you can see the old girl has lost none of her dexterity!

A big thankyou to Ross and our many other volunteer photographers who kindly share their images with us- the result of may hours of patience and much skill.
