Hide Renovations at Loch of the Lowes

Next week we start an exciting renovation of our longstanding double story Observation hide at Loch of the Lowes. This hide is more than thirty years old and has been showing its age, and is in sore need of some TLC.

It is receiving a full facelift and will have better soundproofing, insulation and interpretation in time for the new year. The renovations are expected to take about five weeks in all and have been timed to minimize any impact on our reserve wildlife.

From Monday the 22nd October this hide will be closed to visitors during works. As this is the hide that is usually open to visitors 24hrs a day , we will try to provide an alternative hide open during the day, even when the Visitor centre is closed ( Monday- Thursday from November 1st). Therefore the Crannog hide will be open as often as we can manage during November, but please accept our apologies if you visit when the centre and hides are closed.

Our apologies for any inconvenience caused.

From the 1st November, the Visitor centre and Crannog hide will be open as normal every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 10.30 am- 4pm,  with reduced Admission rates of £3.50 adults, £2.50 concessions, Members free.

If you would like more information, please call the Visitor Centre team on 01350727337.
