Thursday 18th October – Migration Update

Blue YD

Blue YD is on the move, he’s started flying west following the river and heading for where Ceylan, the chick from Dyfi, is currently – could they cross paths? How exciting that would be. Sensibly he’s staying close to the river so he’s never far from food and he must like getting his passport stamped as he’s back in Mauritania.

Blue 44

We’ve just had an email from Stephaine to say she and Mattieu saw Blue 44 (aka Toton)  a couple of hours ago at 2pm, their time, at his favourite spot on Etang Blanc. Photos are on their way. He does seem to have shifted his perferences recently moving from Etang Noir and the south side to Etang Blanc to Etang d’Hardy and the north shore of Etang Blanc. Is the fishing better there? Or is he being disturbed  – it is a busy area where he’s been. We’re hoping Stephanie, Paul and Mattieu may be able to shed some light on it for us.
