Signs of spring

Despite the warm weather a few weeks ago, we are still only in spring, but summer is only just around the corner.

Cuckoo-flower is out in abundance along the boardwalk, which is a sure sign of spring. It flowers around the same time that cuckoos are returning to our shores, hence the name.

Two swallows were also spotted, swooping above the substation near the power station. As the saying goes, one swallow doesn’t make a summer, but two might . . .
