Loch of the Lowes Wildlife Blog 27th February 2011

Morning all,

Apologies for the later than normal posting – i’ve been away the last couple of days so have been busy catching up on e-mails.

Its another beautiful sunny morning and the feeding station was alive with the sounds of birdsong as I gave the birds their breakfast. One particularly cheeky robin nearly took the peanut butter right off the spoon I was holding. We put peanut butter in cracks and holes in the trees and this bold individual obviously couldn’t wait!

Its great to see the loch fully open again – the only downside is you have to work much harder to spot the waterbirds as they’re more scattered now. I could only spot a few goldeneye this morning, but i’m sure there were lots more.

Have a good day,

Jonathan
