Loch of the Lowes Wildlife Blog 10th February 2011

Good morning folks!

Its a gorgeous, clear day with a promise of srping in the air. Numbers of Goldeneye seem to be gradually increasing: Jonathan spotted sixteen Goldeneye and one poor old Mute Swan on the loch this morning. I am keeping my eyes well peeled for this Lesser Redpoll that Jonathan spotted on Monday. I do hope that a f’leeting visit may turn into a lengthly stay as Lesser Redpolls breed all over Scotland and are now a threatened species.  Plus they would make a fantastic addition to our entourage of birds here…

Happy blogging and take care,

Charlotte
