Our apologies everyone for the gaps in the blog and camera overnight.
Last night we had a wee party at Lowes to thank all the hardworking volunteers who gave their time to participate in the 24hr osprey nest protection watch, and a great time was had by all. Whilst we were watching our lady deal with the intruder valiantly on the live camera, our attention was not on the computer! I confess it was me who forgot to switch the camera on to night vision mode- I hope I didn’t disapoint too many of you.
As the evenings grow longer and longer here in Scotland ( it was 11pm before I headed home last night and the western sky was still pale!) our birds are active much longer.
Herein lies one of the secrets of our ospreys choice of Scotland as their breeding ground- long daylight for hunting just when the chicks are biggest and hungriest!
Our wee ones have had breakfast already this morning and are in for another beautiful day.
