Osprey Dairy June 14th

After a lovely weekend off, I’ve returned to find our young ospreys are ENORMOUS! No matter how many years of osprey watching experience you have, the sheer rate of growth of these young birds never ceases to take you by surprise!
In fact the chicks are almost half way to their fledging age and size unbelievably. Ospreys typically fledge at around 50-55 days so we estimate they will take their first flights sometime between the 8th July and the 16th. Before then they still have an enormous anmount of growing still to do, feathers to grow in and a lot of muscle building exercises to practise too.
The next four weeks are going to be full and exciting for our young ospreys.
