Osprey Diary 19th May

We have chicks this morning , but alas not ospreys- yet! Two of our delightful blue tits have hatched in our other televised nest. Last year these hatched the same day as our ospreys, so we hope its a good omen. The female osprey also refused to leave the eggs this morning to eat , which may also be a sign of imminent hatching.
We have also noticed that the closer to hatching we get every yaer, the more possessive the female becomes- which accounts for the relatively little time the male has been incubating the last couple of days. …more news as it happens, Emma
