Record a sighting

If you are a regular visitor to Scottish Wildlife Trust reserves, we would like to hear about your sightings of flora and fauna on or around these sites. This will help us to gain a better understanding of the species and habitats that are present on our 120 reserves, and help us plan for the future in these locations.

You can download a recording spreadsheet and send your reserve records in to us in electronic format for inclusion in our records database. You can also download recording instructions to help ensure that your records are saved in the correct format.

Spotters board

If you are new to wildlife recording, or are recording outside of Scottish Wildlife Trust's reserves, you might wish to try our new online spotters' board, iSpot, which lets you share your wildlife photos and identifications with a wide community of recorders across the UK.

Recording squirrels

If you see either red or grey squirrels on your travels in Scotland, we want to know about it!  Please submit your sightings on our online recording page.

Data access

All Scottish Wildlife Trust data will be made available to decision-makers and the public on the National Biodiversity Network Gateway (http://data.nbn.org.uk/), unless they are records for sensitive species, where access is restricted.  Please see our page on biodiversity data for more information.
