31st January 2016         10:00  -  12:00     Totally Tropical Party!     Holyrood Park Ranger Centre

What better way to get rid of those mid-winter blues than having a tropical party?!  We will find out where the tropics are and why they're different to Scotland. From pineapples to birds of paradise - why not come along and discover the colourful plants and wildlife that lives in our tropics?

28th February 2016         10:00  - 12:00     Hungry birds and sleepy animals   Holyrood Park Ranger Centre

It's hard getting up in the morning when it's cold and dark so no wonder some animals don't bother and hibernate till the spring! It's difficult for birds to find food in the winter so why not give them a helping hand?  Join us to find out more about hibernation and make your own seed feeder to give the birds a treat!

20th March 2016         10:00 -  12:00     March Migration    Holyrood Park Ranger Centre

Some birds and animals travel a long way each year to find food, somewhere to live and a place to bring up their young. When you think of migration, you probably imagine geese flying south for the winter but many other animals also migrate, including frogs and toads! March is a key time for migration as creatures are on the move so when better to find out more, join us for March migration madness!

17th April 2016         19:45 - 20:45    Spring Bat Walk     Meet at - Holyrood Park Ranger Centre

Urban bats, yes there are, right in the middle of your city! Join us for our short bat walk to see the bats of Holyrood park at dusk.

There’s a lot to see and do at Bawsinch! Come and explore the reserve, visit the hide to spot the birds on the loch and see what you can find in the ponds! We will also see if we can give an insect a holiday in an insect hotel!

19th June 2016       10:00   -  12:00     River Life    Meet at - Water of Leith Centre, Colinton

Come and join us on the banks of Edinburgh’s river - The Water of Leith! The waterway snakes through the city providing a haven for wildlife making it great fun to explore.
