News: Waterfall Week at Falls of Clyde

25th August 2011

The Scottish Wildlife Trust is delighted to announce that 'Waterfall Week' is happening from now until Friday 26 August at the Falls of Clyde Visitor Centre and Reserve.

The Corra Linn waterfall should be in full spate, providing spectacular views for visitors to the reserve at New Lanark.

With the nearby hydro-electric power station switched off, all the water goes over the falls.

Commenting, Falls of Clyde Visitor Centre Manager William Buttery said:

“The Visitor Centre at Falls of Clyde is a great day out at any time of the year, but during Waterfall Week it is really spectacular.

“The raging water is quite a sight and will be carrying on all week.

“Our waterfall inspired Wordsworth and Turner. During Waterfall Week you can see just why.”
