Renowned Scottish filmmaker becomes Trust Ambassador

He has also contributed to numerous award-winning BBC, Discovery and National Geographic wildlife programmes and documentaries, including the hugely popular Winterwatch, which have seen him become a household name.

Chief Executive of the Scottish Wildlife Trust, Jonny Hughes, said: “The Scottish Wildlife Trust is delighted to welcome Gordon Buchanan as an ambassador during our 50th Anniversary celebrations.

“Gordon is a leading light in the wildlife world. He has captured some spectacular wildlife events during his career and his work has inspired millions to learn more about the wonders of nature.

“We are thrilled that Gordon will be joining forces with Scottish Wildlife Trust members and supporters in our mission to protect Scotland’s amazing wildlife for the future.”

Gordon Buchanan said: “I have spent my career inspiring people about the natural world and wildlife, so this role seems like a perfect fit, as it was Scotland’s wildlife that first inspired me when I was growing up on Mull.

“I was honoured to be asked by the Scottish Wildlife Trust to become an ambassador and I really look forward to being a champion for its continued dedication to preserving Scotland’s wildlife for future generations.”
